FE Civil
14 knowledge areas — the 2020 specification, not the 18 of the 2014 one that much of the internet still lists. Each card shows the official item-count range NCEES samples from, and how many verified templates the bank holds for that area. This is the only discipline we cover.

How a score gets built across these areas
There is no published passing score. NCEES does not release a raw cut score, nothing is curved against the cohort, and your correct count becomes a scaled score that absorbs small differences between exam forms. So "how many do I need" has no number as an answer — which makes the useful question a different one: where can a score go wrong?
Not in any single area. The widest any one knowledge area can be on a legal paper is 15 questions of 110 — about 14% — so no area can sink you on its own, and no area can carry you either. Scores fail across several areas at once, which is why an even coat of preparation beats mastering one topic and hoping.
One thing does cost marks outright: leaving a question blank. There is no deduction for a wrong answer, so a blank costs exactly what a guess costs and buys you nothing. Never leave one.
